How and where did the children collect them from? The number and range of the offerings is considerable. Were they all 'found' discards or cans they had personally emptied? There is the basis for a wonderful social blog in this image!

"Viaduct" suggests a huge heap of stone that dominates the frame. This viaduct is indeed a huge heap of stone but it has been pushed way, way into the background as a supporting element for that fantastic sunbeam that slices straight through the scene.
