A similar thing happened with the 'Highline' in New York. The embryonic development looked wonderful. Then developers realised the value of the zip code and they built and they built and they built. The Highline is now a dark canyon (in contrast to the original ideal of a linear public park). I wonder what this will look like in ten years' time? (If indeed one could see any of it).

Just right for when the garden is winding down for the year - I love the cheeky beetle!

If you take the glass out of an A series 1.7 50mm (easy to do) and mount that as your 'extension tube you will find that the camera will happily control the aperture as normal. You then set any (M42 for example) lens to wide open and reverse mount it onto the front of the ex A series 1.7 et voila - a fully controllable mega macro set up. I think it was 'John le Frog' who first suggested this ...

Well spotted - the little perishers will grow anywhere! You appear to be set up for precision so try a short tube and a reversed 50mm lens?

That brings back really distant memories - particularly of the Shropshire Union, pre tourism with a pair of working boats. The soft sound of the water passing by and the steady presence of Tug Tug Tug Tug Tug Tug Tug from the single cylinder engine, gliding along through the mist at 6am.

Brilliant idea - and it worked.
