Not so far back in time as you might think. My mum had a galvanised tub and washing dolly and a drying/airing frame just like those. The only thing missing from this collection is a mangle. She had one of those too. We also had a huge coal fired 'copper' in the kitchen (made of cast iron) and fed by specially collected rainwater off the roofs. Come wash day it was like a Turkish bath in there!

The first difficult part is seeing the potential. The second difficult part is capturing it. You did both.

You'd be surprised! I have seen a few people with pocket watches on chains of late. That little pocket on your jeans, just behind the right main pocket - the one you might ignore, is deliberately put there to contain your pocket watch and the oddly shaped clip on the end of most 'everyday' pocket watch chains is designed to clip on to the waistband of a pair of jeans.

Very nice. I learned to sail on one like that.
