Andrew wrote: As with so many amateur landscapes, David, it's 10% inspiration and 90% pure luck, being in the right place at the right time, oh, and with the right lens. Is more than 90% pure luck Andrew. While getting the composition exactly right may not always be carefully thought out or the result of an intellectual process it does stem from instinct born of experience. David PPG: h ...

Nice touch Andrew, linking the rusty metal to the colours of autumn. David PPG: http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/artists/davidtrout

Beautiful and moody - and with fantastic poor weather autumn colours. Much as I love black and white I can't see a mono conversion improving this. David PPG: http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/artists/davidtrout

Well it was certainly worth keeping. The Peak District is captured beautifully in this landscape photo and I love the mooted colour provided by the low light. David PPG: http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/artists/davidtrout

Lovely lines in the landscape Andrew. I really like the way the tree cuts through, thus ties together, the three tonal bands; the field, the light area of sky and the dark sky. Also the diagonal line of the stone wall, bottom left, is mirrored by the diagonal line of the darkest part of sky. David PPG: http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/artists/davidtrout

It is a lovely image but I agree with the opinions on composition already expressed. A lightly lower viewpoint would have lifted the old jetty well above the line of the horizon although that might have made the foreground structure too dominant. It's hard to please everyone init Sean. David PPG: http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/artists/davidtrout
