I quite agree. Framing with this lens was a bit tight as I was backed into a laurel bush!

Some of the comments re: the central tree has got me thinking. As photographers we are a slave to the surrounding environment and sometimes the 'perfect' shot is not possible without harming yourself. However, when a subject such as this cottage presents itself, the overall story for me is 'I would love to stay/visit/seek this one out'. You have given us the opportunity of witnessing a wonderful piece of architecture here. Does every photograph have to be a mini masterpiece? I don't take pictures with that in mind. I take pictures to provide memories first and a bit of artiness is a bonus and comes second. But then I just love the ability to get out and about. It could have been a dog that provided this opportunity for exercise. But it wasn't.....it happened to be a camera.

First day out with it, Steve. A wonderful lens and works extremely well with the K10. Some manual focus lenses need lots of exposure correction: not this one. And isn't it well made? The previous lens I'd used was the Pentax 35mm 2.4... plastic fantastic through and through.

What an amazing location for this lovely piece of architecture, Andrew. The tree doesn't bother me at all, and I think it adds to the character of this beautiful shot.

Lovely colourful shot. The leaves on the thatch really ring my bell. Tree, foreground leaves and stonework on the cottage are wonderful.
I think the picture is fine as it is but if it were mine I would try cropping off the left of the picture just because the scenery is a bit park like. I want this cottage in the woods!
