I like the first shot which has a lot of drama, possibly due to the low light. The red rim on the front wheel and the reflected red from the brake light are excellent. No. 2 is an excellent panning shot while the others are still very good considering you were doing action photography in very low light. That's not the easiest type of photography to do.

I would interpret this in the widest possible sense, my steam engines do spring to mind but steam also comes from industry, volcanoes, the Hyram household kettles and even warm breath on a cold day.

The colour pictures are a delight but I really like those black and white canal scenes.

I think I was the first to get onto the icicle bandwagon - well mine have all melted now so can't add any more.

Love them Ted, the action shots are great and I like the light on the portraits.

It would be hard on the judge if all 10,000 members decided to enter the weekly or fortnightly competition at the same time.

I love tehse pictures Ralf. The colour on these exciting modern buildings is fantastic and the quality of your photography, as always, is first class.

I like the icicles as well but the close detail of the lock on the shed door and the bitumen sandwich are good graphic shots.
As for the question of whether to shoot in colour or black and white I always shoot in colour and take the decision at PP stage to convert to mono. This way I always have the option of either colour or black and white.

I agree, it is the same guy and it is one of the best features the magazine has published in recent times. His photos are stunning.
