It looks good, but with 1/500 second, I guess the shake reduction starts to be irrelevant

Presumably the National Glass Centre is fairly near you as you have posted images from there before :
I hadn't noticed the shutter speed till you pointed it out Belinda, but I was shooting through glass into the light.
Yes the National Glass Centre is only about 15 miles from where I live and I've been there a few times.

Each Cathedral sets its own rules. At Durham the current system is that amateur and professional photographers may make a prior arrangement with the Dean and Chapter to take photos in return for a fee. You can't just turn up, pay a fee to a steward and expect to take photos as you can in many other English cathedrals. Last summer the Chapter clerk arranged an evening of photography through Durham Photographic Society and we invited other camera clubs from all over the Northern Counties to take part. It was a useful fund raising effort for the cathedral. Around 200 photographers turned up.
Durham PS and Durham Cathedral have an excellent working relationship and our annual print exhibiton is held there.

It makes my tabloid evening paper English so drab by comparison. Far East translations into English are hard enough to follow but when the words are rearranged by geeks we enter a wonderful new world of language possibilities.

As for baseball caps, the peak would get in the way when you're taking photos, and worn back to front is too loutish to contemplate.

I think it suits you rather well...

That seems to work well Oggy. There is obvious movement despite the rotors in the outboard position being frozen.

Thanks to shake reduction I presume. I would find a tripod too restrictive for any sort of action shot.

I saw that too and I think it was an ME or an ME super.

The 125th of a second shutter speed seems about right in Mike's pictures, enough blur to show movement but not enough to make the rotor almost vanish. But that raises another question, what length lens are you using? Aircraft photography generally requires a quite long lens so at 125th of a second camera shake becomes a problem.
