Splendid shots, was the K-01 as tricky as you thought it may be?
Definitely not as easy as a DSLR for macro, but then it's not designed for this use! IQ wise it's perfect, but not easy to focus.

I remember these only too well from my youth as I spent hours picking them out of my jumpers!

Personally I would prefer to see it in its natural environment, but that's only a personal preference and not a criticism of the shot, which is excellent.

Some of our best wildlife can be found in the garden!

These are all with the Sigma 105mm DG EX Macro, with the K-01, K-5 and K-5IIs.

I think you are being very hard on yourself Dr O when you say "I don't have anything else that I think could really be regarded as having any particular value to anyone else".

I think you are wrong. I think a lot of people would find value in your images as they are of high quality and artistic merit. Don't delete them, you never know when someone may want them.

Hi Jon, great to see another member from overseas, welcome to the site. Why not just use the K-5 in fully manual mode - then it will be a fully manual DSLR!!

You always have the luxury of switching back to an auto mode if you wish - so you have the best of both worlds.

Best wishes
David

K-5II is far, far better. The original K-5 is a little hit and miss in low light from my experience.

I have both K-5 and K-5IIs, I trust the IIs in low light as it nails the focus almost every time.

Pretty simple and effective Shaun. How about an old photo effect with colour pop?

Great for Wedding shots don't you think?

Cheers
