Great stuff, David. You need to apologise only for failing to post a few more...
Apologies to you Simon, although I won't be taking up your suggestion on this thread as I don't think everyone would agree! Thank you for your comments

David, getting fed up with your stunning shots of the Lake district, my new years resolution is to spend more time at our our "Scottish " equivalent the Trossachs.
Determined to squeeze the best out of my new K511s and army of lenses, just wish it would stop raining.

"Happy new year" to all the forum members, who it has been a pleasure to share images and banter with

Happy New Year to you too Bill, thank you for your continued support and encouragement. I'm sure you will put the K-5IIs to good use once the rain stops, but don't forget it's weatherproof!

Best wishes
David

Hi David
Nice photo one from me
Thanks Neil, sorry that the attempts to bring your DA*50-135 back to life on my cameras failed earlier today

Best wishes for the New Year.

I like the approach you've taken here David and also the images. They are all of high quality, if I had to nominate a favourite it would be 'Heatwave'. I love the treatment you have given to this photo - it illustrates perfectly the conditions it was shot in and has great atmosphere.

Terrific quality and interesting variety in these shots David. In particular I like the Italian and Portuguese pictures - were you on a cruise? And the macro pictures too.
I'm glad Ralph Hardwick started off this idea in another thread since when I've been looking through my 2013 images to see if I've made any progress since 2012. The jury's still out on that one. I'm trying to pluck up courage to offer half a dozen or so of my favourites on here.

Thanks very much David, yes we were on a cruise, it's not normally the case that I go globe-trotting! I would think that you have more than enough good images to show a retrospective for 2013 judging by what you've posted on the site already this year.

Lovely photos David. Do you print them and hang them on the wall, or maybe make a year book? Or do they just stay on the hard drive? A crying shame if it is the latter.

I haven't made progress photographically this year, having mostly been lacking inspiration and inclination, but I will be putting my favourite photos into a year book.
Hello Gwyn, thanks for your comment and questions. I have one or two hanging on the wall, but that's all. Our house is in a bit of a state of flux due to restoration, so I may have a couple made into canvasses or large prints once it's done. Your suggestion of a yearbook is a good one, but I haven't done one as yet

Cheers

But tablet=media-consumption device, not productivity device. So yes if you write documents, its not going to be very good on a tablet
Hmmmn.....not intended to offend but very wide of the mark. Talk about jumping to conclusions, when did I ever say anything about writing documents? I work for a company that develops productivity software for PC's and tablets so I think I am in a position to provide a fairly informed comment and tablets are used for productivity applications. My PC does everything I need to for the tasks I require, so I don't need a tablet.

They are already stumbling. Take a look at their recent sales figures.

Great fun reading this thread, although I don't own a tablet and don't feel the need to own one at present. My PC laptop does everything I need it to and it hasn't been ruined by Windows!

I work with technology in my job so I'm no dinosaur when it comes to the latest kit, but I just find the laptop more flexible, faster, easier to use etc.

I think Apple products are very good, but overpriced and I have an objection in principle to their restrictive practices. I also think they will be dead in the water in a few years time unless they change (which I don't think they can).

Sorry for posting two sets of images in one day, but I couldn't resist these in the Festive Season. I cam across him on the path at RSPB Old Moor today and he hung around for a few minutes.
