I`m looking to buy a K1 ii.

I have the option of buying from various places at obviously various prices. The question I have is - Does the warranty for the K1 (or indeed Ricoh / Pentax) work as an international warranty or is it theatre or area dependent?
The write-ups I have seen would seem to indicate that it is "European", "North America", "Middle East", etc.

If I buy the camera (for example) in the USA or UAE, would the warranty be valid here in Europe (obviously not withstanding the BREXIT issues)

You guys need to get out more

I have a local HDD on the computer with the photos. This is backed up by a 2 x bay NAS box running RAID1. In addition I use Carbonite as cloud storage.

Whatever system you use, make sure the backups are physically separated. There`s no point having two HDD`s in the house - if there`s a fire you lose the lot. Worst case, take your external to your friend of neighbour each time you`ve backed it up.

BTW - Carbonite works out at about GBP 30 per year (you can opt for European storage rather than US).... alternatively, MS One-drive or Google or Dropbox gives you scope...

Just a thought - but maybe a handful of disposal cameras to the "attendees" would also help?

I had a look at various other previous posts and took guidance from them.
Sensor has now been cleaned and whatever is was has gone

Not very descriptive I admit.

I now have two marks on the top left hand corner of each photo I take. The camera is a K-50, and these marks occur on any lens I use.
I`m very much a novice to this so I don`t want to cause any damage but I`d appreciate any guidance on where I could clean (if possible).

I`ve cleaned the lenses, viewers and air blown the inside of the camera - is there anywhere else ?

My K-50 was just out of warranty (by three weeks). Problem was diagnosed as the aperture motor and duly replaced. Much as I would have liked to attempt to do it myself - I`m not that brave. Cost for repair was Euro 120, and a week...

The camera has worked fine so far.

This promises to be a trip of a lifetime (unless I make a real pigs ear of it and have to go again).

I`ll take your recommendations and start to get out once the nights get a little darker, and I`ll start looking for the tutorials.

I`m going to the North of Norway in February and hopefully should have an opportunity to photograph the northern lights.
i`m very much a beginner with a new(ish) K-50 so any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I obviously have a little time to practice but would there be any useful tips (are there any other kind)?, that would assist me with the shots ?
