Should I have left the Anti shake set to ON ?
A lot of people say no to this question, I believe they are wrong. Unless you use mirror lock up and a remote release there will always be some slight movement when you release the shutter, this is what sr is for.
Your image is soft.
Your shutter speed was a bit low for 500mm, perhaps a higher iso?
Was it shot in raw or jpeg, in either case did you sharpen it?
Have you checked the diopre adjustment on the viewfinder?

Hope this helps, or at least gives a few ideas.
I shall now retire to a bunker re my comment on SR and tripods/monopods.

An interesting set Stefan,
IMHO;
No1, Perhaps a few more pixels on the left would have given that guitarist a bit more room, the blown out area above and to the right of his rather detracts from an otherwise good shot.

No2, Struggle with this one, think had you cropped on the first player it could be good, but the 2nd and 3rd players seem lost.

No3, Too dark.
No4, good action shot, the blur on his hand adds some movement, to bright in bottom left of the frame.
No5, as No4
No 6 Like this, good colour and the column on the right seems to add balance.
No7, as above, but perhaps the exposure on the shirt is a tad dark.
No8, Hints of good detail in the shirt and right hand, but generally to dark.
No9, Shot of the set, good colour, lots of detail, blur on the fret hand adds some action, excellent.
No10, Almost as good as No9, a bit tightly cropped on the fret end. but like the lighting.

In general i like these, individual comments may seem picky, but well meant.

I think this will open up astrophotography to the masses
Never thought of myself as a mass before.
K5 is becoming more and more desirable, particularly as I`ve been researching astro mounts for the K20.

Use the fastest lens you have when using the teleconverter
experiment by over exposing your images when using a teleconverter
Agreed,
Remember Bikerrout that the viewfinder and live view show you the image at maximun (i.e. brightest) aperture. When you take the shot you lens will stop down to the selected aperture, thus giving you a darker image.

Have checked.
On a K20 you can only change points with the lens fitted directly to the mount. Once I added the 1.7x point selection was not available.
Looking at the manual it says "the af point is fixed to the center position regardless of this setting with lenses other than,," then it list`s F to DA lenses.
So, the teleconverter is making the camera think it has a lens on it that does not meet the selective point criteria.

To do stacking then you need to switch to manual mode and move the focus ring to suit.

Just guessing her but I suspect the 1.7 focusses on the centre of the image regardless of you point selection. Will do a couple of trials with mine.

it also functions as an astro-tracker...
Yet another reason for me to get the K5, have been thinking about astrophotography for a while, £230 is a bargain for that function alone.
