Cannot comment on the 16-50 but have used the 16-45 extensively in the last month. It dos`nt have macro focussing but it is a superb lens, The extra 5mm on the 16-50 is probably irrelevent, you can always take an extra step. So for me it would come down to the extra aperture stop, is it realy worth £276? only you can decide that one. For me i would use the saving for a good 50mm prime. Come to think of it that is exactly what i did.

Thing is this Shim, i got up at 5am this morning because the site told me the sun would rise at 7am. Why bother guessing when it takes 30 seconds on the web? Off course you are not use to the sun over in Liverpool, perhaps you should move to chester?you resort to compasses and lists of when it should be visible.... it's time you either stayed indoors or got out more I mean your not exactly looking for a comet

[quote:3496ace15f="johnriley"]What makes you think it's a pretty dismal lens? It makes it sound like the pictures will be a dirty grey unfocused mess!

Hi John,
The few mentions I can find of it are all quite negative , will do some test`s and report back.

Can anybody explain why I am being bombarded with jessops ads on the right hand side? It seems a bit odd, I am on a Pentax forum, so presumably am interested in Pentax, but cannot buy Pentax at Jessops.
Not the best of targeted advertising.

Bought one of these last night on ebay for £13 inc postage.
I know its a pretty dismal lens, but cannot resist that sort of price.
Only problem now is deciding what to do with it.
Paperweight or door stop?
Dave
