Sounds like a bad batch. Take the money and see what price SRS can do for you. There have not been any problems on the lens reported here.

I like the muted colours, focus and the fade out to the distance of photo 3. Reminds of walks in the mist as it should do I suppose. Sometimes colour in misty shots works well like it does here.

I think that this is where the manual lets us down. They often show how to alter a setting but never demonstrate how and when you would use it plus the result. It would be useful to see the effect of the custom settings.
