I've set this up ready for an A2 print
I'm a big fan of contre jour lighting, and outdoors I would have tried to get the sun behind him, but there was none, so I used my trusty Yongnuo, gelled with a warm gel, zoomed to 70mm and placed about 6 feet away beyond the snail, so that the light was specular like the sun and placed just out of shot. Lens flare and contrast was controlled further with a large black card strapped to the lens.
Macro is always more impressive when you are at eye-level to the subject.
I bought him indoors and put him on some dewy leaves carefully brought inside. I placed a pot of herbs in the background about a foot away and nearly in the way of the light so they would also be lit.
I set up the camera on a tripod and got a chair, because I was expecting to need a lot of patience.
There was no need for fill light or reflectors as I was so close there was plenty of light bouncing back onto the subject.
ISO 200, f16, 1/50th, FA645 120mm macro, 40mm extension tube.

Haven't posted for a while, but this might be interesting.
The 645 takes some getting used to as a macro camera, as 1:1 macro on such a large sensor isn't really very impressive. So big objects or, in this case, lots of extension tubes is the order of the day.
This little fellow is about 7mm.
As it was a horrible day, I rigged up a warmed-up flash some way away to simulate the early sun.
They actually move really fast and never stay still.

Well if we're allowed to choose more than one, then the slightly less versatile (than the 35 macro), but utterly brilliant FA77 ltd would have to be in there.
Every time I stumble across a shot with this lens it just jumps out at me.
This shot was hurriedly-taken; I just stood my daughter out of the hubbub under the trees on a drizzly day and pow! job done. It's like she was in a studio.

Second vote for the DA35 Macro Ltd. Stunning quality, tiny and convenient, very versatile. Perfect holiday lens. Perfect studio product shoot lens. Perfect woodland walk lens...

Yep. If I was building up my lighting for a product shot, I would consider this to be about two fifths of the way there. Unless the brief was actually to obscure the logo etc. it would be essential to show them at all costs.
They are starting to look good, especially the blue ones with interesting lights at the bottom, but not sure why some have bottoms chopped off? That's not a good look

So if you mount the RF60 on the camera, the camera is unaware of any HSS ability and defaults to sync speed.
As such the rf60 can't become a transmitter for any off-camera flash on HSS.
It's one area where I'm getting really frustrated with Pentax (or lack of support for Pentax). That and tethering.

Nice set Nigel. the first is a little hot on the left I think, but the others are very even.
Just to clear up one point; can the Cactus transmit an HSS signal to other HSS compatible flashes like the Metz, or is it only capable of receiving the signal either from the hotshoe or another Cactus?

To re-iterate:
Sync your camera clocks, then always view by capture time. I go one further and after copying the photos to my computer (but before touching them), I run a macro over the folder to add a sequential number to the front of the file names. Never, ever remove the camera filename. 0001_K3_0988.DNG

Lovely. And inspirational as always. 6 8 9 and 10 leap out at me, but it would be a different set tomorrow
