Got lucky whilst shooting fungi as this beautiful beetle wandered over my scene.
Might be worth clicking thru to the big version

What John said.
Great eye on the day, step away from the 'sharpen button'

Just a quickie, as I'm off tomorrow first thing.
I'm a bit of a country bumpkin nowadays.
I'm off to London for 2 days and staying near Hyde Park outside the congestion zone.
I'm just wondering if you guys know if I will be able to park on the street somewhere within the travel day card zone (i.e. dump the car for the two days), or will I have to stump up for a car park or someone's drive?
The Hotel parking is too much.

Cheers M'dears and Happy New Year!

Strange choice. Looks like a recipe for back problems to me.
It also needs an ugly cover to make it rainproof and wouldn't fit any long lenses, or two bodies, or sandwiches and raincoat, or laptop.

What do you have to trade-in to get £200 back?

In any case make sure you're working at 16 bit with your raws.
High contrast shots need more compression and flat tones, or gentle gradations are easy fodder for compression algorithms to simplify without loosing important detail....

4 or 6 for me, maybe loose the lights on the horizon? and the poster on the gate post?
7 is lovely, but I'm desperate to see about half a frame more to the right.
5 is also lovely, but I would crop off half the sky, or (heresy) crop off some and squash the rest down a little, to keep the clouds and create a panorama.

Just for the record...
I've always found Faststone to be excellent - looking after the integrity of JPEGs even after rotating etc. I used to use it even with Photoshop alongside, precisely because I could do things without re-compressing.
Always need to keep an eye on the settings of whatever you are using.
Don't forget that editing in 8 bit instead of 16 bit can cause gentle graduations to become posterised. Save copies as 8 bit for most outcomes.

Impressive! I clicked on the link at the bottom to see the stills. I'm convinced I need to get a Q and have some fun with absurd focal 'lengths'.
Anyone know how to marry-up a long lens with an iPhone?
