Here's one of the finished shots:

low res this time; sorry if I killed your browser with that last huge image, I should have just linked to it. Maybe a mod can remove that post or turn it into a link?
Not sure how all that Magenta crept into the process, but it had to go!
Incidentally, I asked the model to clean off the foundation and go natural. I said I would clean it up in post as I prefer to retain the translucent colours in the skin if I need them.

I should do that Andrew, that would be interesting
OK, here's a brutally honest (ful-res) photo from yesterday's studio shoot (click it and zoom in). It's an early shot, pre editing, with no sharpening etc. from when we were roughing-out the lights and make-up etc. The 120 macro was stunning, incredibly sharp, with a lovely DOF even at studio light levels.

I used the Flu-card to tether the camera and that worked well for this roughing-out, giving the inexperienced model a chance to see what I was trying to achieve. I'm looking forward to the software coming out for the cable tethering, but the Flu-card is going to be a boon for corporate shoots with the client present.
A little bonus for me despite doing studio shoots for years, was the awesome sound of that big ol' mirror going off along with the popping and beeping of all the lights. It sounded so cool with that great ker-clunk each time I might not be so impressed in the church next week

By the way, this is the one I have 2 of - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tripod-Mount-Belt-Clip-Camera/dp/B0098GO4PE/[/link] 6 quid!
It really is a synch to use; locks in place and removes with one hand. I managed to break one of the belt holes, crouching suddenly at a wedding, but the camera was still secure. I've jumped down off walls with big lenses, no problems.
Not brilliant for walking, but for just freeing up your hands when you get there, or allowing you to operate two bodies it's absolutely fine. If they made a metal version, I would look no further.

The Black Rapid RS looks good except it is a stand-alone system - not suitable for backpack or swapping 2 cameras.
The SpiderPro Is expensive but well-made and can accept tripod plates. I think I would go for this if I only wanted to hang normal DSLR bodies on it.
The Peak Design Clip is very strong and well-made, can accept tripod plates but apparently is not very comfortable because its small footprint and lack of padding allows the camera to flap about and the clip to dig in.
Still looking....

I can't make my mind up about which high-end clip to use.
I have two of the cheap plastic ones from China and they are surprisingly capable, offering locking, one-handed release and cheap enough to have one on each side so you always have a free slot for swapping bodies quickly. Really handy at events.
However, it did finally break when I crouched down suddenly and pinged off the belt slot on one side, camera still safe but dead clip.
So, what of these latest high-quality metal clips? Any users out there?

I have two of these and two Metz 58. I use the Yongnuos far more than the Metzs. If I want to run around using high speed synch then the Metz is ace, but for everything else (80 percent of the time) the yongnuo is brilliant. really well made and quicker to operate.
For kids, get the camera into manual and fire the flash into a white wall or ceiling. And just practice!
The wireless features are brilliant. Great fun hiding flashes and seeing the interesting effects the off-camera light has
You can also buy a book of test gells, tear them out, stick them to the flash and mess around with coloured lights.

Thank you John, that's very kind
I was also tempted by the D, but I'm often required to hit ISO above 1600, so personally, I think I would have been frustrated.
I'm still figuring the Zed out, but I think its strongest asset is its ability to handle shadows and gently fade to clipped areas. It does display noise at fairly moderate ISO, but those 50 MB go a long way to mitigate that and retain detail at normal display sizes. Saturation is the first thing to suffer, possibly no better than the K5, but I'm still working on that observation.
