My biggest disappointment with the SLR (after a bridge camera Fuji 9600)was that it didn't actually take better photos unless I was very specific about what I wanted from it, then it excelled. I expected to be able to put it on auto and snap away merrily but it was very unforgiving and almost every shot was pants.
Since those early days it has never been on auto unless I give it to my Mum!

I have a set of Japanese knives and they were just astonishing when new. licking the cut food was like licking a window - so utterly smooth and unbruised. But maybe one of you guys can explain how to keep them that way I'm afraid they are now, at best, just sharp. hey ho...
great shot Mike.

I like 3 best, the others look under exposed.
I think you should loose the frame and text completely, actually, as a this is my business, I don't think, I know, it looks awful! sorry.
Some tips. keep it subtle, be very careful with vignettes or gradients - they usually look, at best, indecisive. try to sample a colour from the image for the text.

while on the subject of bananas, try wrapping one in bacon and throwing it on the bar-b, seems odd, but delicious.

It is impossible to control a plane that has lost the whole wing. It starts spinning immediately, and no amount of opposite aileron/rudder will be able to counteract the spin. You lose the whole wing, you go from fly by wire to fly by prayer.
I'm sure that's true if you're travelling fast enough for the wings to generate lift, but what would happen in the case of the original video ( I think we've agreed it's a good fake), he lost the wing at the top of a turn when he wasn't really moving and a powerful stunt plane could surely drop back to earth reasonably slowly hanging on the prop?

I'm glad that one got in Mike, because several of us gave you advice on the composition. so we can all take credit
Well done tho, lovely shot, I haven't even managed to join! I asked but didn't get a reply... then gave up, as usual.

yeah, you're right, now that I'm not at work, I've had time to rewind it and now quite a lot of it seems wrong. It's very clever, very well done, but a lot of the movement is too fast and jurky and the camera shake between cuts is a neat trick to disguise the transition. Had me fooled. .
It looked possible so I wanted to believe...
incidentally, isn't it spinning the wrong way? I can't be bothered to look again !

If it is fake then it is very clever. notice he hasn't got any speed so the remaining wing won't generate lift and send him into a spin. He then hangs the plane on the prop and descends gracefully. like I say, if it is fake then they really thought about it when they made the video.

I could do this if I wanted to.... but I've got better things to do.
