so John, on the big white feature lower-right, can you see tones throughout the area? with no continuous white?

If you pass the eye dropper over the area there are two distinct blobs of 255,255,255 white covering enough pixels to appear noticeably clipped. The next tone I see is a yellowish halo around the white.

I'm not at all bothered by these areas, but as Amin has asked...

Hmmm, that's an odd one then. I have fiddled with my monitor in case it was too bright. but the crater bottom right still has no tones in it.
How does the PSD file look? Maybe the JPEG is throwing away the last few levels of highlight.

On an artistic level it looks blinkin' lovely and would print really well.

My most useful PP technique is to do the very best I can, then save it and leave it alone till the next day. I often see things I missed.
I like it

One trick in PhotoShop - Levels, is to hold down the alt key when moving the sliders, this will reveal any clipping as you move the slider.

Also works in PS raw converter.

That's a corker Amin!
Almost perfect I would say.
Maybe the highlights are a little blown.

but you could run PSP on a Mac
Of course! I can be so slow sometimes

The only things I run in 'Parallels' is faststone viewer (I love this app).
TimePanic (something I've become wedded to) and Freehand (because I don't want to buy a new version)

Parallels is absolutely seemless - you can set it so Windows takes over your Mac or set it so it runs invisibly in the Mac OS. Copy and paste between OS's as normal.

There's no Apple version of PSP
Ah, it was just a tongue in cheek remark, I have little enough to shout about ) Although I didn't realise you were wedded to PSP.

I wouldn't really recommend a Mac to most people - all the good things that Apple Mac started have migrated to PC and now all that's left is really well made hardware with almost no crashing or compatibility issues.... And no more reliance on bloody Microsoft. (that alone was enough for me to return to the fold).

Incidentally, the whole system will go under your arm with just one power cord. It's almost a laptop. I bought it partly to schmoose my customers when I'm demonstrating - it looks gorgeous and the screen is to die for. But ultimately, the clincher was getting away from Windows. yey!

No real downside, except a really annoying 'debug' notice permanently displayed on the back panel.

It's such a long time since my camera was normal I can't remember if the back screen goes truly black when not in use, but mine is a bit annoying in the dark as it glows just enough to reflect me in the view finder unless I put my hand in the way.

But who the hell shoots in the dark?

I voted 'not interested'. As I reckon the K20D will be more than enough for me..... one day
I like the idea of video but have several cameras that can do that well enough. I quite like the shaky videos you get from P&S cameras - like old cine flicks of us as kids.

Buy a 24" iMac!
That will also solve your screen issues
