You simply never come home with nothing
Whereas with the 16-45 I nearly always come home with nothing. I don't know what it is about this lens; people swear by it, but I think it's a plasticky piece of s^*& and I hate it. Neither one thing or another
If the 50 and extension tubes counts as 1 lens I would probably keep that - again, always come home with something (and you can dismantle it and take exquisite portraits )

Then various Fuji bridge cameras.
Then back to the fold with the K10D (bought with the 16-45 and 10-17), most often carried with the fisheye or m 50 1:7 and extension tubes.

Far from cheating, I would go further -
I would also dodge and burn the sky or multiply the image to give it more punch.
It's well worth the effort, but the sky needs to be part of the composition IMO.

Thanks for the mention mecrox, On paper it was a bloody miserably day, but the sailing was awesome, the sea magnificent and the boat - a dream!
Good luck with building.
Well done everyone else, great to see what 'lights people's candles'

I like 'em all, but 'speshly number 3 and the last one - but I would just have to clone out that post - such a great composition, it must be worth it

Each time someone posts in this thread I find myself agreeing with them
Remember we're talking about the future here tho'. I don't think anyone has any real issue with the amount of work we currently face. I had my doubts I could take that much time again, but I know I will happily do it again if I ever win.
But next year... who knows?
It really would become an irksome task if we didn't know 50% of the entrants.

The images are definitely your copyright by default so unless you have expressly signed over the rights they need to replace the watermark with yours or remove the images.

I did write it up as they came in, but it only took 3 to come in at once for me to find myself away from work for quite a while.
I'm intolerably busy at the moment and not a fast writer so maybe I was looking for alternatives. But you're right, and in truth I wouldn't be able to resist writing an everyone's image.

It can be very sharp but is very soft wide open. It focuses fast but noisily.
Paulyrichard is a perfect example of someone who gets on with the lens.
It is clearly a very capable piece of kit, but my post was all about the most used kit and the 16-45 is my least used, and I wouldn't miss it, which is just as well as I think I have broken it - recently dropped off the tripod onto grass from about 2 feet - an old metal lens would be fine but this thing is so flimsy I fear this little tumble has done in the focus.
