My K10D is permanently on debug mode, and for the most part it stays on one setting. I really must check all the lenses thoroughly and make a note of the numbers.

It is a piece of cake to change if you know the numbers for each lens.

Most of the time they are all close enough not to worry, but if you're shooting wide open it's worth making a quick adjustment if you have time.

That's great, dynamic shot and the only troublesome artifacts are from the JPEG. The ISO noise is fine.
I like it despite the expanse of grey. It looks like a fun shot - maybe because of the car window.

I'm sure this was a slip of the tongue Kris

Our threads crossed Amin.
I think you're right about the idiot thing. Just an unfortunate choice of words. Said out of frustration I suspect.

Well put Nathan.

As for being purist site - no way!
I would leave like a shot if this place turned into a nanny state.

This is a Photography site 1st and foremost. To ignore the world outside Pentax is ludicrous.

That thread wasn't about brands it was about getting to the bottom of whether 'better' equipment would improve the situation.

Amin, I think this is still on topic, because I want to defend a brilliant, informative and friendly forum.
I read all 13 (was it?) pages as they appeared. I read dispassionately and thoroughly and actually came away thinking I must have a look at the D700 !
But also wishing the op would try to calm down and understand the advice she was being given.

Arguments and bickering happen in all walks of life. It takes all sorts to make a world and this forum is a truly friendly and helpful place.

I have seen some extraordinary language and attitudes elsewhere, it simply NEVER happens here.

Sorry to hear that Gwyn. Sad to see you leave.

In defense of the forum (rather than trying to change your mind).
I can see that things are a little different round here, but actually the case in point (swapping brands) started to be misunderstood when the established members (not the newbies) pointed out that it might have been the photographer not the camera. I happen to agree.
I don't remember anyone getting all funny about brands and picking on the op, all I remember was constructive and technically accurate advice to counter over confidence, followed by defensiveness and misunderstandings.
It went properly sour when one of the newbies (who happens to have made thousands of posts) got all silly, but hopefully he has gone now (as he promised).
For me it made good reading.

Does now tho'. Thanks Alan.
I've seen these things in the Pyrenees as big as your hand, they move like Giraffes, apparently not doing much but traveling huge distances

Thanks Mike

Ah, well I'm glad you brought that up, because that's precisely what this app is designed to do - keep you in control of every step in the process.

you could just use a free service from one of the huge, cheap labs, but I want more control than that without costing loads or having limits imposed.

So my app, can be whatever you want it to be.
You have a simple admin page where you set things like the recipient of the print request.

If you are confident in your lab and they can take money on your behalf, then send it straight to them.

More likely tho', you'll set it to send you the email, you check your paypal account for payment then dispatch the request to the lab with your own payment. The lab then sends the prints to you, at which point you do your thing to finish the product, or they send straight to the buyer.
