I bought one of these lenses a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for putting the problem on the forum. It has led to some very useful advice.

John

I successfully bid for this lens on ebay last week. It didn't come with a lens hood and therefore I am wondering if anyone has a spare hood that they would be willing to sell.

I know that it is a long shot but I thought that I would ask before I try to get one from Sigma. Their website still lists it as an available accessory.

Thanks for reading.

They certainly are, David. I was very surprised. I have another shot of a different subject at ISO 10000 and the noise levels are almost as good. My new K5 never ceases to amaze me.

Well, possibly, sometimes. This was taken at the closest focusing distance at 135mm, 1/1000, f16, ISO 8000 on a K5.

Image straight from the camera apart from resizing for the forum in PSE. No post processing and no cropping.

Mine arrived this morning (£399 from Park Cameras, new but without box - from a K5 kit). I hope to post feedback and samples soon.

I take your point about the lighting, Mike. I have a diffuser but forgot to use it! I won't make that mistake again.

Thanks for your thoughts.

..... well, in the back garden at least. Flushed with enthusiasm after my first few shots with the K5, I toured the garden on Friday looking for wildlife. The following is a selection of what resulted. So far, I wonder whether I should have used f22 instead of F16 for a little more DOF and I will need to get a little closer to my subject to reduce the amount of cropping involved. What do you think?

Where flash is shown as being used, it is the Pentax AF360FGZ at full power, mounted on camera. All shots are JPEG at the best quality. All were hand held except the cat (which was tripod mounted}.

C&C and advice very welcome.
