I have a Sigma 170-500 APO lens (note: not the APO DG), which I no longer use as I now have a Pentax 300mm F4. I would like to add a Pentax 1.7x Converter to the latter and fund the purchase by selling the Sigma.

Is there anyone with a converter who would care to swap with me, or failing that, I will sell the Sigma, for which I am thinking of around £325. There is one currently on eBay for £369.99 which, I feel, is a little too much.

Is my price reasonable?

I do not want to put the lens in the post, so personal callers only please. I live in West Kent.

If there is any interest? I will be very happy to provide photographs taken with the lens and of the lens itself. It appears to be in excellent condition with no marks, scratches or fungus. It comes with front and rear caps and a Sigma lens hood. I do not have the relevant Sigma case but it does fit into a Canon case (included) minus the lens hood.

Thank you for such a quick response, jeallon.

I have already checked your first point and all is correctly set.

I'll try your second point once the current charging is finished.

When I started this thread, I thought that I might be lucky to receive half a dozen responses. I am absolutely amazed at the interest and passionate, strongly held views that my original question has generated, Off-topic yes, at times very helpful and at others, entertaining.

Yesterday I bought a ten inch Sony Xperia Z from John Lewis and I have a problem. It will not connect with our Netgear router. The tablet does detect the wifi and the user name and when I put in my router password when the Xperia asks for it, the tablet says that it is connecting. Unfortunately, it continues to display that for ever.

Any recommendations on what I should do please? I have run the tablet's Wifi connection test routine, but it fails on the first or second phases.

Feeling as I do that I am the last person left on earth without an iPad or other tablet, I have been thinking that this might be the time to join the 'club' so to speak.

I envy those who can so easily view and show their photos on these portable devices. So much more convenient than on my laptop. The trouble is I have 30,000 photos shot over the last 60 years that currently take up 54GB, expanding by 7-8GB a year.

I have researched Flickr with their free 1TB, but uploading this number would take far too long.

My question is, can anyone please recommend a tablet with a good screen that would cope with these numbers, presumably via micro SD cards or my 128GB USB memory stick?

The more I investigate the subject, the more confused I get.

I already have back up files, one of which is always off-site.

Many thanks.

Canterbury Cathedral provided me with a good opportunity last Tuesday to try out my recently purchased Sigma 10-20. The cathedral was extremely quiet at lunch time with only a few visitors which gave the rare opportunity to take some shots without people in them.

All photos were hand held (I left my monopod in the car!), taken in RAW and processed in ACR and PSE10; mainly the removal of converging verticals and only one instance of mild barrel distortion in almost 100 shots. The K5 was in TAv mode. The following is a selection.

Having a lens as wide as 10mm certainly makes you think differently. I am still learning.

C&Cs welcome.
