If the answer is only (or mainly) to get better photos then I remind myself that you can take an excellent photo on dirt cheap gear, and that's its the eye and brain that determine what's a great snap, not the gear you take it with.
And every time so far that has convinced me I don't need an upgrade!

Some K series lenses...
AND a 6x7!?!?
That's just not fair!
About the same cost as a new K1 too I'd wager.
My local has just got in a 6x7. Must resist!

Wonder if it looks even better with the sign and office door at the bottom cropped out?

Two options:-
Option A - spend 3k on a k1 ii and one of the new full frame lenses to go with it
Option B - spend 3k (or less) on;
a photography course,
various books and studies on the subject,
various books showcasing the photography you enjoy,
Something like, a second hand K3, a couple of the Ltd primes and an old MF prime
A weekend away (or two) chosen with a view to spending two days snapping....
Which do people think they would enjoy more, and which do they think will produce end product they are most satisfied with.
It's a no brainer to me....

After seeing the k70 come out about a year later I spent ages weighing up trading in, but soon realised (applying my rule above) there was no justifiable reason for it and I was merely being tempted by that hard wired desire we all have as humans to always be wanting for something
