Yes, but some are more welcome than others!

I abuse him at work, why should it be any different here?

'NeilP'? Romford? Doesn't own a Pentax yet?

This can only mean one thing...

I don't know, I leave the forum for a week and things have already started going downhill.

By the way, can they be identified through their songs? the blackbirds and the songthrush?
Definitely! Take a listen on these pages:

Song Thrush: http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/s/songthrush/index.asp

Blackbird: http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/b/blackbird/index.asp

Starling: http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/s/starling/index.asp

The Song Thrush will repeat phrases three or four times, the Blackbird has a lovely, flute-like song which will make you think of an english summer evening , the Starling makes a variety of odd noises, and mimics other birds and any noises it hears.

The idea came from Daniel Bridge's post link here (Thanks Dan!)
Glad to be of service!

My wired remote seems to have gone walkabout at the moment (was only a very cheap and nasty one anyway), so will have to source another one. Tempted by the Aputure ones that Mannesty linked to in that thread, but they're over £30 including postage. I had a CS-205 when I first got my *istD but that broke in no time at all.

Victoria's secret smooth out some other "imperfections" link
Just curious as to why you're hunting through lingerie websites hunting for photoshopped bottoms?

I think they've smoothed out those 'imperfections' a little too much!

Just to let you know I have messaged George, and he's replied - he's fine and has just been away for a break, so no doubt he'll be chipping in in due course.

Well spotted Dan, I would never have thought to check for light direction in clouds
Ideally you should use the same focal length lens too (or at least a similar one), otherwise the perspective looks odd. Not that I've ever done this, just that I've seen plenty of shots spoiled by a fake sky. Your's looks pretty good to me.

As for rotating/leveling the image I used the centre corner on the tower and got that vertical, your eyes must be better than mine cos' I cant see any difference
I used the bottom of the cliff, and when I checked the verticals on the tower they seemed to be spot on.

Dave; Yes I dont like the white cloud either but it looked ok before I buggered about with levels etc getting the rest of the pic right, I might give it another go when If I ever get around to editing everything else I took
I'm not keen on that cloud either, but I think it's because it looks wrong to me, is the light coming from the left on that shot? Hope you don't mind, but I tried flipping the sky and I think it looks more natural to me, and the 'weight' of the castle balances that of the cloud.

It's a little more contrasty too, and I rotated the whole thing very slightly to the right.
