They do quite often go for around twenty quid. See these recent completed listings: http://tinyurl.com/33jtry
Plenty go higher, but just set yourself an upper limit and bid, at the last minute (works for me ), on anything that takes your fancy. If you don't win it, there'll be another one along soon - you may get lucky with that one.

General observations are that it's pretty damn small (a little bit too much, in my opinion)...
I felt the same, which is the main reason I used the vertical grip with it (another bonus over the K100D! ). Got a K10D (with grip) now, but still have the D, it's a lovely, solid camera which definitely produced the goods.

Have fun!

They are when you take account of the cost of machining a Canon lens to accept a K-mount.

Yeah, but why bother?

Anyway, I have a kit bag that fulfils all my needs, I won't be buying any more lenses for a while now.*

No, no, no! What I meant was, nice as it is to have good, clear pics of what they look like, the most important thing (I hope) to us all is what the image quality of pics taken with them is like.

They look lovely, but if we can get the same IQ with, for instance, a Canon lens, then they're not worth the money.

... is that what Pentax Browser does?
In a word, Yes.

Try it another way. Before starting Photo Browser, open the folder containing the RAW files, and double click one to open it.

Assuming the the Pentax Browser is the default application to open your PEFs, then it should open up, with a window showing a magnified version of the image you opened, and the Browser in the background showing all the images in that folder.

If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what's going on! It may be that the Mac and PC versions work differently, but try it and see.

I think that rather than clicking 'open', you just need to click on the folder, or the + sign to the left, to open the folder. Am I misunderstanding what you mean?

If you're right-clicking (or whatever you do on a Mac - I'm using a PC) and selecting open, I think that's your problem.

I would have thought not, as once you've added an adaptor to fit the lens to the body, the lens would be too far from the sensor for you to achive infinity focus.

And, I think if you took that route you'd have to be getting the D80 or D200 at least (the D40 has a funny mount I think, although it may allow manual use of lenses), so you would, in my opinion, be better off spending the money on Pentax DA lenses instead.

Yes you can - you can process the RAW files in-camera.
