Avaialbale from March price quoted as $1299 with Mk2 18-55 lens
One thing that confused me, is that it states the drive modes as having 'continuous Hi' and 'Continuous Low', but that's on the specs on the Pentaximaging page - 'Low' is 2.3FPS for non-stop jpeg shooting, only up to 38 jpegs at 'Hi' 3FPS. 'Burst' mode is 20 frames a second , but only jpegs at 1.6Mp.
Still, worth casually mentioning 20FPS to a Canonist and then sauntering away without saying the 1.6Mp bit...

Your confusing me Dan,
Just to note, when I set the theme, I wasn't necessarily expecting paper, scissors and stone in each picture.
But it's all down to interpretation of the theme, and the winners did it very well.

Anyway, as I said before, many thanks for your varied and considered entries.
Amilner: Well this definitely has all three items in it, but I don't find it the most inspiring one here, I think because it's a little too 'posed'. Perhaps just a bit too literal?
Deecy: A different, and lateral bit of thinking, I like this because the discs are arranged well - the spine of the Paper Lace one meets the corner of the Scissor Sisters, and the Joss Stone pic is just right in the frame. Highly Commended.
HowardJ: The three elements are here again, but in a bit more of a composed way - I would have prefered the stone to be in focus I think, so a smaller aperture might have been better (for me). Also, it looks a bit dark and 'flat' to me, adjusting the levels gives a crisper image.
Malo1961: Another different interpretation, but I find the paper a bit too 'busy' and the lighting means some parts of the scissors are 'lost' against the crystal. Not sure about the bamboo bits at the side either.
Dirk1000: With this one, Dirk wins himself another First Place! Superbly excecuted, brilliantly thought out. I'm not usually a fan of photoshopping to this extent, but when it's this well done, with a simple, if surreal, theme, I love it. I'm simply blown away by this image, and can't help but wonder how much time Dirk put into this, and how many images were combined to make it. Love the black and white, textured look too.
Unlocker: Sorry, but anything after Dirk's entry is going to look a little, dare I say it, dull, even a beautiful ring like this. Just doesn't grab me I'm afraid.
Prieni: Sorry, can't help thinking 'sausage cuts paper'. Must have been the fry-up this morning. Good lateral thinking, and nice composition with the diagonal, but as a surreal image, it just doesn't 'cut it' like Dirk's does.
Johnriley: My first impression when I saw this was that it was on its side, but having tried it rotated 90 degrees left, I'm not sure its any better, but I prefer the writing more upright. I find the three elements a bit too contrived again, and the busy background doesn't work too well for me with the brooch, as the colours are so similar.
Justgetoutandride: A good pic of the stone helps to start with, and I think the positioning of the scissors is just right. It's incidental to me that the print is on paper, I like the shot as it is, and for that, and the nice lighting, I give this Second Place.
Tyr: Again, a different interpretation, I might have prefered the front face of the rock to be in focus, I find that it's not a little distracting. Nice try though, and again nice lighting.
Hefty1: I'm not sure what you're getting at here , but I like the direct lighting and the general layout of the composition. However, nothing looks sharp (perhaps intentional ), perhaps it's a touch of camera shake (highly likely :lol, but I suspect that resizing for web has taken the edge of it. Commended.
Promhandicam: This doesn't work as well as Justgetoutandride's, and I think it's because the lighting is much harsher, and again with the hand there it looks a bit too contrived. And the pic of the 'rock' isn't as nice as his either.
Galoot: It's this 'contrived' thing again for me. Dirk's image is just a brilliant surreal piece, AJ's could be a shot of a found object - someone had been cutting up a print, got distracted (by a phone call perhaps) and left it there... but a five pound note rolled up in a candle holder, with a Swiss Army knife leant against it? As I said, I had no idea what to expect when I set the theme for this week, and in most cases it's been obvious that there was a need to almost cram all the items in there. However, having said all that, I like the lighting, the warmth of it, the soft colours, and I'm giving it Third Place.
Sussexsurfer: For the reasons given above, I prefer this to some of trhe other shots, as it's a bit more 'real'. The only thing I would query is why is the stone there? Presumably to hold the page down, but it still looks a bit odd. Commended.
Well there you go. Hopefully you at least agree with some of the things I've said.
Dirk's shot jumped straight out at me and was a clear winner in my opinion, so it's over to Dirk for the next one!
Thanks again,
Dan

Having had a quick glance through, I can see, for me, a clear winner, but I'll do my summing up soon. Thanks for your entries, you've all been quite creative.
Just to let you know the judging is underway!

As always, come up with anything you want.
I won't be home on Sunday night, but should be able to judge on monday evening, so consider the competition closed at midnight, GMT, next sunday, and I'll get to it as soon as I can after that.
Good luck!

I just searched for 'Loreo' on ebay. There may well be other viewers. More details of them here: http://www.widescreen-centre.co.uk/Products/LOREO_LITE_FOLD-FLAT_3D_VIEWR.html
