Fibres left behind aren't a problem - a quick blast with a rocket blower or twitch of a soft brush will remove them.

I have a Hama-branded lens pen and would recommend it as the first thing anyone should buy after their camera. Best device ever for cleaning fingerprints and greasy marks, there's a brush in the other end to sweep away any loose particles so they don't scratch the glass when you use the pad end.

I was very surprised on a recent trip to Cardiff to see that the Asda in Cardiff Bay still has a one hour photo lab. The staff didn't look like your average shelf stackers either, so if I lived closer I'd be inclined to give them a go.

While looking at Arca Swiss compatible quick release plates I came across this

Other sellers have the same item for £15!

I have the slightly longer one, it's well made but it isn't worth £400...

See if you can get an Arca Swiss-type L bracket and a matching QR mount to bolt on top of the monopod?

I'm slowly standardising on these mounts as my Red Snapper ball head has one and the QR plates seem to be widely available in a variety of lengths, so you can shift the camera forward or back on the head to get the balance right.

A little while ago, Boots were doing 36 exp slide film @ £7.99 with a 3 for offer as well.

If you go for that, remember that you have to send it from a post office as a "small package" with postage about £1.50 instead of just sticking a first class stamp on the return envelope. I sent a film last year whith about a 10 day turn-around.

Regards
My local Boots is still running this promotion, I'd assume they all are. It's decent film IMO.

I suspect the ten day turn-around is due to there being only one lab left processing the stuff. They've probably decided that this is enough to meet demand.

You should be able to use it on the Super A as that supports TTL flash, I don't have an AF400FTZ to try though. I keep meaning to get mine out again and try it with the AF280T.

There was something wrong with the Pentax K2? I think you could

Those two have always puzzled me slightly. The K2 was the top camera of its day, yet lacked the viewfinder aperture display of the KX. This was offered on the K2DMD, but why didn't Pentax fit it to the original one?

I've always been slightly amused to see the "standard lenses" section of the ME manual including this as well as the 40mm f2.8. About as opposite as it's possible to get in terms of physical size for a standard lens!

It does get a mention on the Dimitrov K mount site. AFAIK this was just something Pentax did when they introduced the M series but wanted to keep this lens in production. Slightly puzzling as they converted a couple of zooms to the M series just by adding "-M" to the lettering, but not this or at least one other lens which also carried on with a different typeface.

Well, I can comment on the K 120mm f2.8 which is a very sweet performer. Seems seriously rare as I haven't seen another advertised anywhere in the two years or so since I bought mine.
