That's surprising - I thought the DA70 was supposed to be one of the secretly-full-frame models. I guess the 40mm must be due to its suspiciously similar design to the old M 40mm and the 35/2.4 due to its apparent development from the FA 35/2.

Do BoA not realise that they're going to be targetted by flashmobs, thanks to that attitude? It's basic human nature to do anything lawful which annoys powerful people who can't do anything about it.

The home-made drone has been done, someone flew a radio controlled aircraft kitted up with a wireless camera over New York (and amazingly didn't get arrested or disappeared - the cops did talk to him but accepted that you weren't going to bring down a building with an unarmed toy plane).

You probably won't get vignetting on a DSLR, but you might on full frame.

Oh, he could pick up several satellites perfectly. Part of his farmyard resembled a set for "The Dish"!

I now have an Android tablet PC, which I'm slowly making sense of. I think it should be able to connect to my camera and work as a photo viewer.

So mine's probably a 1964 model too then, that's good!

I should perhaps explain how I came by it...

I bought a minty KM which came with a Spotmatic case, genuine M42 adapter and Super Takumar 35mm f3.5 (the earlier version which goes down to f22). Inside the case was a sticker for "Wallace Heaton", a bit of research found that they'd been bought out (by Dixons IIRC?) before the release of the KM, and the case was a Spotmatic one rather than a KM/KX case. So I started looking for a tidy Spotmatic to complete the set, after deciding that the original owner had evidently replaced a dead spotty with the KM. Finding an early one on ebay in good condition for £20 or so I pounced on it, now I have a minty Spotmatic with original case, strap and 35mm lens and a minty KM with original case and K 55mm f1.8. The latter has seen rather more use as the metering is more accurate.

I think the SV meter will fit, the prism housing and shutter speed dial look to have the same spacing.

A local farmer had a very long-lived battle with TV Licencing. His point was that as he physically couldn't pick up a terrestrial TV signal on his land then he didn't see why he needed a licence. He won!

We've just had to renew the photos on our licenses, £20 fee EACH!

According to the documentation sent with the reminder we can legally continue to drive in spite of it taking up to three weeks I'm dying to get pulled by the police and told to produce in 7 days

Dont ever move house HG or you'll end up with a photo license.
I had to do that last year, nice little source of revenue for the DVLA!

Very nice - you need the clip-on light meter for the SL now!

How do you tell the age of a Spotmatic? I bought one a while ago which I think is from one of the earlier production runs but I've no idea. The serial number is 1453173

Das Boot is something of a classic. They built a full size U-boat interior for filming and, as a result, had to pioneer a fair number of techniques that are now universal in order to film in the cramped spaces.

The Untouchables should be up there with the cinema greats, it might have fiddled the history somewhat but the resulting film is superb.

Weirdly I would also rate Mad Max (the original). For an action film it's downright cerebral by modern standards, you don't even see Max's face for the first 10mins or so but they still manage to present him as a character.
