Pentax 50-200mm WR lens for sale

£110 including postage within the UK

Excellent condition, only used twice by myself and barely by the previous owner.

I bought this second hand at the end of 2011. It came with a K-7, 18-55mm WR. It was part of someone's dual kit K-7 (he bought it all from SRS). He had barely the two items, I know because the shutter count was low on the K-7.

No warranty for obvious reasons.

Original box, front and rear caps all present.

Reason for sale: I have a DA 55-300mm and don't need the WR in the >50mm range right now.

I paid a fair bit more 2nd hand and this is glued to my K7

Can definitely recommend the FA 35mm f2

Also tempting [but perhaps controversial ] could be the 2 DA*s

K-5 / K-30 body

Pentax SMC DA* 16-50mm f/2.8

Pentax SMC-DA* 50-135mm f/2.8


this might exceed budget, but might not be too far off if you can get the lenses 2nd hand

I thought the main K-5ii benefits were AF based - not so important for landscape work.. so perhaps save the money (by getting K-5 mk1 or K-30) and put it into glass.. good glass the main priority as bodies are like computers and will be replaced

With this sort of budget Id be tempted to get:

-K-5 mk1 body
480 refurbished on ebay uk
500 brand new ebay uk

-Tamron 17-50mm from onestop digital £222 (or the 17-70mmm pentax from srs etc.)

-Pentax DA 55-300mm ~ £230

-2nd hand Pentax 18-55mm wr (not priority to buy, merely for WR/backup)


Then a prime, probably ~30mm and fast

-Sigma 30mm f1.4 £250-300
-2nd hand Pentax 35mm f2
-Pentax FA 31mm f1.8 (much ££££) but magical by all accounts


Then later on a wide prime

-Pentax DA 15mm f4
-Samyang 14mm f2.8

Please can you elaborate on the condition of the 16-45mm and are you 1st owner or 2nd owner etc?

If you don't mind me asking: Where did you decide to order the FA 31mm from?

Great lens same wouldn't sell unless I got a 31mm

If you read this entire thread, and weigh up the cons pointed out.. you still might consider it if you are keen for a 35mm f2

I may be selling my 50-200mm WR shortly.

But I notice the DAL is significantly cheaper than the WR on SRS.
