A lens that would be cracking for this trip is probably the DA* 60-250mm...

Shame its also v expensive

I have been mulling over selling some bits to get a 18-135mm WR... it seems a very good travel lens.. but also a lens that comes under a lot of scrutiny judging by the US forum

Some very useful info here, thanks... A lot to think about

Less weight to carry up those mountains; less expensive gear to have to keep an eye on; no dirt getting onto your sensor.

Personally, if I ever had the chance to travel to someplace like this, I'd be taking everything, and probably investing in a new lens as well! But then photography would be the number one thing. It depends on your other priorities when out walking around.
Indeed security is a big part of this, so is weight

I'll be in the area as its a work trip.. but I might try to extend it by taking time

Even thought the DA 55* is a odd focal length for this.. the sheer quality has amazed me... I think it must be the best lens I've got.. its also my most recent acquisition

I need to travel light, so probably two lenses, maybe one, and most of mine are primes...

Was thinking about taking the 15mm and 55mm DA*

I've bought from them as well my "english correspondent" went to the shop and brought me that brand new DA*55 when he's come to Italy.

And I have to thank PentaxUser for the advice about this shop. Thanks to those who told me.
Thats the deal I took up too..

A devastatingly good lens for the price..

Scroll down a bit...

From the US forum using a 50mm sigma macro apparently

That looks like the natural crystal

Ceiling might be harder to see, because embedded..

Do you reckon I could see if asbestos is in an Artex ceiling using the 100mm WR?

Fragment of the ceiling of course...

-------------------
I know a sample could be sent off for 25 quid.

I think the concentration in such ceilings is about 1% if present and that with adequate prep/precuations (mask, googles, suit and a special water based chemical to stop fibre release) it should be OK to remove.

I was thinking about the 70mm or 77mm but ending up getting a DA* 55mm

This is my first DA*

Only taken a few shots... devastating quality edge to edge from what I can see so far

Bought a lens for the first time (for me) a few weeks ago from Microglobe

No problems, all as expected etc.

Would buy again from MG, knowing if I did have a problem they also have a physical store

At current prices, MG vs others... I could see myself buying again from MG if I didn't buy second hand on here for instance

what do you reckon the DA zoom at the bottom is?

17-70mm-ish with WR?

I seem to remember it being mentioned in another thread people used to go on mentioning this kind of thing with another supplier, but when the item page specifies UK sourced, that's good enough for me.
Was about to say this... some of the items are clearly marked "UK sourced" stock...

Some aren't marked this way.. So I would expect these to be full EU warranty covered

So I don't see what the big deal is...

It's also a physical shop in London.. not a warehouse job, or some site with a weird postal address
