unlike the tamron/pentax 18-250 which from a range point of view is a much better walkabout option.
Have you tried walking around with one of these ?? I thought it would be a good ONE lens solution, but it drove me nuts ! really BAD zoom creep !!

You have to keep it locked all the time.

So DA18-135 + DA55-300 solved my problems

i assume from what you say you have adjusted the diopter with your glasses off and still been unable to to get a focused image anywhere in it,s range, looked in the k7 manual the diopter correction lens adapter M in the accessories section has twice the range as the one fitted as standard so as i said i think i will seriously have to consider it.
i really don,t know how you cope with glasses on when i try i end up switching live view on with my nose, could be i have double wammy wearing glasses with a big conk
LOL I have a small nose, so problem there

Using that magnifier would mean removing your specs all the time, or wearing them on your head ! Too much aggro, and risky with the high price of specs !

I'll struggle on as I am, I seem to cope ok !

i may have to get one in the future as i could not physicly use the standard viewer with glasses, just too awkward, and as i say i am on the limit of this doipter at the moment without my glasses
As well as HAVING to use glasses, I also have to use my LEFT eye for focusing as my right is useless ! Try that for awkward !

he could take his glasses off re adjust the diopter for a clear image and see the info
For some of us this just isn't possible ! Not enough range on the diopter adjuster !!

I was after a limited dof to emphasize the structure at the top of the beak.

There is one potential problem to consider when using one though, and that is if you wear glasses, it's likely that you will not see the entire frame in the viewfinder. I wear glasses, and I can't see the whole view because with my glasses on, my eye is not close enough to the lens of the magnifier. I soon got used to moving my eye in relation to the image I was seeing to get the whole picture, as it were.
Got one with my K7 and took it off very soon, for above reason (spectacle wearer). I now have it on my K10 and it's a bit better (I assume K20 will be the same). Don't know if it helps with MF yet, haven't tried it
