Had a problem yesterday with my K10, after an internet search I found Don Clarke camera repairs in Wooton Under Edge in Gloucestershire,

Dropped the camera off at 2pm this afternoon, and 2 hours later got call to say it's fixed, although the fix did'nt need any parts, just a labour charge, I reckon thats pretty good service and worth broadcasting.

Btw, He's repairs all makes.

Personally I would set the flash zoom somewhere near to the zoom length when actually taking the shot and imo you'd generally point the light meter in this situ at the camera position.

Worth looking at " The Range " as well, been using their frames for a few years now.

Quote "Manfrotto 190XPROB & 486-RC2 (about £125 when sourced separately online)"

I'd go for the above with your budget, buy the best you can afford and it'll last you for years, usually " buy cheap = buy twice "

I've had an 055B for years and apart from a few dings here and there it's great and will last at least another 10 years, recently purchased a 190 for the misses to use, like the improved column mechanism with the 190.

I sent mine in on the 15th Dec 09 and still heard nothing, the web says " awaiting varification " still.

Try downloading the latest Picasa version. It should solve this side of your problem.
OK, will do, I've tried the " update " within Picasa and it says it's there are no further updates, but it's worth a try.

Greytop has been most helpful and looked at a PEF from the K10 & the K7, see post as above.

Many Thanks to all who have responded.

Hi Duncan, Thanks for the reply, just taken 2 images, one from each camera, both set to " Daylight WB " the K10 shot says 5350K with tint at +11 in CS4 ACR whilst the K7 says 4850K and tint at +13. ???

Hi Greytop, Thanks for the reply, I've used PEF with the K10 and therefore continued that with the K7, it happens in Picasa and CS4 which made me think it was something in-camera, don't like using jpeg but have tried a shot and this was OK.

Thank you for your offer, I'll have to go and shoot something, but that would be appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

Hiya...., new to the Pentax forum, but had Pentax kit for many years, currently the fleet is an Ist'd ( Wife ) K10D and K7, my query is this,

The K10D's auto white balence has always been spot on, ( mostly ) where asim finding the newly purchased K7 has a sort of sepia tone to the raw image before being processed, I've checked all the settings in case I had selected something daft, even restored the camera to default, no change.

Could there be something I've missed, could it be faulty ?

I use Picasa 3 to view raws and delete the c.....p, then CS4 to process, both programs display the same symptoms, I did check the Adobe web site for the last ACR update last week.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Many Thanks

Chris
