The only thing they seem to have added is SDM lens support.
And why, if you're thinking to yourself, "ooh, Pentax SDM lenses at last, just what I've been waiting for - I can afford a couple of those ", would you not stretch that little bit further and get the K10D anyway?

ISO 3200 and 'Scene' modes, obviously...

I nice little quiz to test you guys. Which are real photos, which are computer graphics.....
http://www.autodesk.com/eng/etc/fake_or_foto/quiz.html
9/10 correct. I wasn't sure for any of them though. I was only reasonably confident for two of them.

Edit: And then 3/4 correct in the bonus round. The one I got wrong was the one I was surest I had right

It's scary though... how good it is these days.

I already know about the coloured rivets. Any suggestions on how to deal with that?
Nice aeroplane. I didn't know there was a tailwheel variant of the Yak 52.

Sorry if I'm being unobservant, what's the issue with the rivets?

Er guys....I think this image has a message, something on the lines of "know your onions"
Ah... nice one, then, in that case. That hadn't occurred to me. In that context, I withdraw 'random'.

This is another example of what I was banging on about a while back, where the intention, or purpose of the photograph has a great bearing on whether one likes it or not - and, dare I say, whether it's any good, although obviously that's very subjective as well.

If the purpose of the picture is to get across the 'know your onions' theme, then I think it works very well, and has humour, as well as rich colour and detail as well. It's the incongruity of sticking a lemon with a bunch of onions that makes the point, and makes it well.

However, if, as the title implied, it's a still life, with the focus on the vegetables in the context of the rustic-looking tiles, then as I say, I think the incongruity of the lemon detracts from, rather than adds to the composition.

Of course, often, knowing the real intent is impossible, so we just end up with a lot of subjective impressions, based on what we imagine the purpose to be.

But I think I'd like it even more without the lemon, since one lemon with several onions seems a bit random to me.
How much less random would two lemons be?
Half as random, of course! And if there were enough lemons, it would be the onions that were random

Just a slightly contrived combination I think - onions and a lemon. Just my subjective reaction, FWIW.

I like the imperfections in the onions. They match up with the tiles to give a rustic look. Much more real than if they were perfect, since when was the last time you saw 3 perfect onions together?
I do too.

But I think I'd like it even more without the lemon, since one lemon with several onions seems a bit random to me.

It is best NOT to keep lenses in cases, which provide a nice environment for fungus.

I keep mine on an open shelf, facing down, caps on, wide-open.
Wow. There was me, doing exactly that, thinking, I must be apostate, I should find somewhere better.

Still, where better than that, to be able to count how many you have. Less the number on loan from family members, of course.

How about posting a picture of your setup? Would be nice to see the 'how' as well as the results.
The text description of your setup wasn't entirely clear to me, Pete. As I said, it would be nice to see the "how".

I have decided on this image which i took this morning using my black sided reflector the K10D and the F 50mm 1.7 Lens. I used two small boxes which I covered with the black reflector cover itself and in between put a tourch shining upwards from the base.
I like the last but one of the dolphin the most, FWIW. Not wild about the dice.
