Careful, we may get tough later now that you have past the 'gentle' phase
Definitely. I only give newbies one day of 'gentle', especially if they're showing any promise...

I have to agree with Smeggy the answer is not in the pole, it's to move the canisters
It's a drainpipe, not a pole.
You have to realise I'm from Sunderland, so use English as a second language.
Fair enough. You're excused

Some will pay £200 for a Gucci Handbag
I wish there were more people like JR that would pay 50 quid for spare batteries - lenses might be a bit cheaper.

Things have moved on Smeggypants, as have general concerns about Lithium batteries.
I bet if you crushed a genuine Pentax battery or drove a screw into it, it would catch fire just as well as a knock-off.

I had exactly the same problem. Getting the shutter count using PhotoMe worked fine for my K-7 & K-5 but does not work for my K-3.

I also tried exiftool and that did not show the K-3 shutter count either.

I needed to check the K-3 shutter count so in the end I used a tool on the other Pentax forum here which worked fine.
Ok, thanks for confirming that I'm not just being an eejit, though I'd rather it had been finger trouble

I'd noticed that link - works for me too, but I'd rather have something local that I can run.

Have you tried a K3 PEF file?
I have now... it still doesn't get the Manufacturer's Notes section.

By way of a friendly dig at ChrisA... but didn't you suggest in a previous post that "clique" was a word associated with negative connotations? With this in mind I would like you to dig out the thesaurus and in your next critique improve on the words "gormless" and "goofy" lol
Yes, you're right, I think. I should have chosen my words slightly more carefully.

Looking at them again, it's only the child in 6 that strikes me that way.

I still don't like the B&W ones, because the (presumably intended) effects don't seem to have come off. In 1, I'm guessing it's supposed to be a tender loving moment, but actually it looks like she's been up in the night a few too many times and has nodded off on the sofa....

.. and 3 is just too flat for my liking. The lack of eyes removes interest, and there's very little contrast.

I expect the parents love it, but #6 I really can't stand. I stand by gormless-looking there. And cheesy.... < shudder >

'Manufacturer Notes' quite a way down - just after 'Shot Info Data'
Cheers, however, I don't seem to have that section at all. I can find it in one of my old K-5 DNGs, but not the K-3 one.

I've tried a K-3 DNG, and a K-3 JPG. Neither seems to show that section.

I might be doing what my OH calls a 'bloke look' (where I look for something, it's right in front of my face, but I still can't see it), but I can't for the life of me find the shutter count in the PhotoME EXIF details I can see if I open a K-3 DNG.

Can someone please tell me which tag/section it's in, cos I'm damned if I can see it...
