Wish i could see the photos that everyone is talking about?????
Can somebody please tell me why I cannot?
Since we're not sitting at your computer, it's hard to say, without more information.

What have you tried? Another computer? Another browser on the same computer?

Can you see images on other web sites? Can you see other images on this web site?

If you click the quote link on my post above, can you see the image links? (They all start with http:// and end with .jpg)

If you can, can you see the pictures if you paste the link into a separate browser tab or window?

You need to help us to help you - by giving us as much information as you can.

Nearly missed this thread, glad I didn't !!
Cheers, Simon. Here are a few more, then, some with the Sigma A-400mm F5.6.

A380, and you're right, it is very quiet.

Happy to report that the team have greatly improved the Search function. It now seems to rank hits on a phrase better, and also allows the "show posts/threads" option that we used to have.

Haven't tested it extensively, but it's definitely a lot better than it was. Thanks guys.

OK I have seen the photos - I went to http://www.petewelsh-photography.co.uk/petes and from there (it is a root directory) I could open the photos. I would say that John is spot on in his diagnosis.
How strange. Now that I've visited the photos successfully using your method, the original links work for me too.
_______
Edit: though if I restart the browser and refresh the page, I'm back to the original error. Don't understand that

On another note, how come Johns first post on this thread is on a green background?
It's what posts marked as helpful by the OP look like.

Try refreshing the page. I can see the images, properly displayed.

Which browser are you using?
I can't see them either, refreshed or otherwise.

I've tried with IE6, Firefox 3, Opera 9.50 beta and Opera 9.51, all with the same error message as others have reported.

Encouraged by people's comments on my picture of the Reds, I've uploaded a bigger version to the gallery, and also entered a nearly full-size version in the magazine competition.

I have no great expectations, since a quick look through the gallery shows what excellent company I'm attempting to join.

But I just wanted to say that I greatly appreciate the encouragement of all those that took the trouble to comment. Without all the kind words, I'd have probably just thought something along the lines of "that one wasn't bad", and left it at that.

So thank you all.

I just tried the Russian programme, without camera attached. I pressed the top left button, and my PC (WinXP Pro SP3) crashed.
I tried it, with XP Pro SP2, with the camera attached.

Seemed to work fine (got the debug mode message on the LCD), although I didn't have the bottle to change anything - I just got it in and out of debug mode a couple of times.

Just to be clear, when I've referred to Luddites, it's got nothing to do with your original reference.

Those raising issues with the new forum have been accused of doing so mainly because it's not like the old one, for resisting change simply because it is different.

I have attempted to refute this accusation (which I and one or two others have abbreviated as an accusation of being Luddite in attitude), since I feel that it's unfair.

Nothing to do with your original reference.

And please don't see this thread as your responsibility. Someone else would have started it, even if you hadn't.
