AFAIK, they need to have the power zoom contacts. The Kenko 1.5x Pz-AF Teleplus DG does and it works fine with my SDM 300mm Pentax DA*.

Reading that site properly, that's the wrong way round and it doesn't appear that they have one from 72 down to 58:

Though they do say that can be made to order.

Would this do it:

I find my A360FGZ works just fine on the 180mm because of the larger working distance between the front of the lens and the subject when doing macro work with the inbuilt diffuser deployed.

Clarky,

What with the Aussie low import taxes, you could have a punt on:

I've had the Sigma 180mm for around 6 months now - It's a lovely macro lens, though I'd recommend at least a monopod to save your wrists. Never used AF on it.

I really like the expression on the frogs face. Great shots

Thanks everyone. It's a corker of a lens.

The bigger male mallard was forcing the smaller male underwater and pushed his poor head down with his beak.

Fear not, the little fella escaped the clutches of the larger eventually!

VNC is probably your best bet, depending on the OS's of the old/new PC's:
