I'm now trying to get into photography and have recently accquired a pretty cheap *ist DS with the 18-55mm lens...
Having used it for a few days I've discovered that it quite often misses the focus, plus also being quite slow.. I'm thinking it's most likely just me rather than the camera...
does anyone have some handy tips about that??
thanks =D

P.S.
this is one of the very rare successful shots....

so far i'm fairly convinced that it'd hold up in tropical downpours without any doubt...
particularly about the k7 if anyone has experience...Im more concerned about a splash of water coming onto it, from any possible angle since i'll be shooting quite near waterfalls, with people playing around it seems inevitable that water will be coming my way....
i'm planning on getting the camera by my birthday (not till after xmas), hopefully it'll be cheaper then!

Someone here tested theirs in the shower. Mine toppled half into a river and the camera was fine. I don't want to talk about the lens, but that was impact damage not water damage.

sorry, is that the k7 or k20d??
I'm torn between the 2 cameras, planning on getting it in half a year's time...any kind advise???

Sorry, I'm asking a silly question but I'm really confused!
How weather resistant are they actually, i've been told that the k20D is "splash proof" whilst the k7 is only "drop proof"....
and lenses are "weather resistant"...
i've tried to search, but can't really find any exact information about how much batter can they take, because i'm saving up to get a DSLR, but i'll be predominantly using it in quite damp/often wet conditions or else on the mountains where conditions aren't brilliant.
just wondering if someone could describe it better or kind of quantify it...
thanks.....btw i'm somehow more inclined towards the k-7, cuz of the weight & size...

new to the forum, have been using a pentax optio W60 for a few years, and recently got me thinking about getting a dslr...
hopefully save up over the summer and get something by xmas!
eyeing on the K20D and a weather proof lens that'd hopefully serve me well in most situations!! =D
