sorry, might just be me being thick, but I think I need something simpler, like there are loads of different types of just fuji and kodak film and i can't even tell the difference between fuji reala/professional/superia, of course there is the price difference but what does it do to the image etc??
Main reason for me using film is for when I'm in the hills (climbing, on more or less vertical ground when I'll be bashing myself around with the camera, so I won't have to worry about a hefty repair if I crack a lens/break/drop a camera as I'll probably bring the cheapest things along.) On less worrying ground I'll normally stick with the K5. Or else a film camera will be my backup when I'm travelling.

Slightly silly question here as I haven't got much experience at all with shooting film.
I've shot 2 rolls of film (properly, if you don't count mum's camera when I was a kid), one was a roll of Kodak gold 200 and the other was fuji superia 200. The kodak roll was shot in whiteout conditions, looked quite washed after developing, and the fuji roll was in nearly perfect weather, and i changed to a different company for developing and looked a lot more saturated (probably due to light)
Just wondering, what's the difference between all those types of film out there? I know higher iso = more grain, but then what else??

Thanks for putting up with my silly questions!

Smeggypants, thanks, I think that as well, I just don't have a tendency to crop pictures, I quite like the man and dog on the right in the picture, though it probably destroys the focus of the photo.
Simon, it was taken last weekend, on the Saturday and Sunday. Sunday was a glorious day in the Llanberis pass, one of the very few days I've had in the mountains there which aren't rainy/gale force horizontal snow/sleet. Gave me an amazing day of climbing too (more important than any photo)
Tyr, I wasn't planning on shooting Bath but had about half a roll to kill off so went into town as it was such a nice day. Glad it brought back some memories to you

I'm pretty sure an adaptall 2 to pentax is the right mount to buy.
Both the PK and PKA mounts will work. The PK mount will make the lens a fully manual lens, as it doesn't allow the camera body to take control of the aperture and so it'll be like an smc-m lens, manual for everything.
the PKA lens allows the aperture ring to be set on auto, so only focussing has to be manual.
Hopefully I've got the above right, I'm sure other members will rectify me if I'm wrong
If you can get hold of a PKA mount for a good price then do so, while it's around £10-20 for a PK mount, a PKA mount could easily go for over £50.

Selling a SMC-A 135mm F2.8, it's in great condition, very little signs of use, glass is free from dust and fungus and clean aperture blades. Can't find the front cap so I've put a filter on it that'll come along, has back cap though.
Asking for £110 including postage to uk (RMSD), open to offers indeed!

Never had the M 28mm f2.8 so can't really comment, but I had a brief play with it last friday before taking it to Snowdonia to use on a MZ5 instead of the 43mm, so it allowed me to take it to places to get bashed and not worry about a hefty price tag On the K5 it seems to be brilliant so far as well! Took a few shots around bath today to use up the film, and will do a few at uni later, hopefully get it developed soon
I also brought the 135mm along, didn't really get on with it as I like to be able to creep up closer. I think what I really need is a macro lens that allows me to use it on both film and digital, perhaps the sigma 105mm ex (not dg) or the tamron di 90mm

Recently acquired this when I picked up a lens at the charity shop down the road, it seems to have a funny AF motor, possibly a bit old and slow and I can't get the price sticker off. other than that it seems to be fine though I didn't put a roll of film through.
If anyone would like to have it for trying to dismantle or play with then I only want a couple of pounds for postage or you can pick it up from Bath from me.

Picked up the 28mm for £15 and might go back to get the 135mm for cheap too, what's the opinion about them? I've took the 28mm with me this weekend in snowdonia so it'll see some film action, any tips on using it as well?
