I blew my new lens and K3 budget on Saturday. Last Wednesday Mrs Cedric and I decided to buy new cars then MAK joined in. What a decision! still, no MOTs for 3 years.

Always good to welcome new members and especially any from the bulgy bit sticking out into the north Sea.

Had to start asking `cos I have no idea where to begin. I chose that particular lens as it`s the largest I have but could quite easily use a 135 or 200 or 300. I just don`t know. I guess I should look for an idiots guide to........

Dave, there is a micro switch actuator which is now located in a cavity in the battery case. Do not use force to try and extract the battery or this actuator might well break. It`s only about 3mm across so something very thin and narrow might just sort it. As someone mentioned a while back you will have to push the battery down a bit to take the spring pressure off the actuator in order for it to retract. Maybe try a locksmith, just be careful not to short the terminals but these are easily seen.

Rather curious as I`ve never tried Astro with a DSLR. Thinking about buying a telescope and sticking a K5 on it. Would welcome any ideas, I don`t want to spend much but would like to try it out. Would I be better off with the GPS unit and say a 500 F8 mirror lens and 2 times converter?
