Linda Macartney for me, I love her portraits & the simple way she worked. Just chatting holding the camera at waist level clicking away.

But sticking to the list gotta love Baileys portraits, the Krays portrait is one of my favourites.

Excellent shots, well done! I'm a fan of Dizee as well, a unique vocalist! Did you need to get Dizzee to sign the photos off, or did the magazine deal with that side of things?

He's certainly got a lot of character, must be fun to photgraph.
As this was for editorial usage, no need for "signing off" I always deal with my own press requests, that way there is no room for misunderstandings.

Think this was the 4th time I had photographed Dizzee, but first time doing his own show. Lighting was appalling with lots of backlights hence the need to get the nifty 50 out. He is good fun to photo & one of the more, shall we say, media alert performers who loves to pose for the camera, which in this business helps enormously. I did a newish band a couple of months ago who the NME had raved about who wouldn't even face the audience never mind look at us mere photographers...

Hi All

For the last 3 years I have been shooting live music concerts & festivals for various online outlets. Last year I managed to get some assignments for Clash music magazine, a national music mag with sales of approx 20,000 per month.

Three months ago I became a regular contributor & this month I have found out I have the lead review on the live review section. The review of Dizzee Rascal has 2 of my photos. The main photo was shot using the K110d with the F50mm f/2.4 proving you don't need an all singing so called expensive pro camera to get work.

Hopefully I can get that cover soon

Was trying out a Nikon D90 a few weeks ago, try putting one of those into centre spot, focus mode or selected, buried deep in the menu sub system!!!

Yeah the K20d & GX20 are rubbish at low light aren't they

Here is Patti Smith walking towards with just 4 lights upon the stage, 2 you can see in the background.

ISO1600
Lens f50mm f/1.4 at f/2.8
Shutter 1/60

A little sharpening but no noise reduction
