Greetings and welcome. IMHO keep what you have for a while, as other people have said, it takes a while to get used to what you have, still learning with my k-m 15 months on!

Hi there, I bought an aftermarket IR remote to use on my k-m(e-bay)and yes, you have to hold button down, but did you not have to hold down the plunger on the cable release: Have tried moving around whilst using remote, you have to be in line of sight of the sensor which is in the hand grip; but you can get a fair distance away

hello Barrie,
Yes, some planes do go off the beach, not many that I saw last year(the first show I have been to), I was there on the Sunday when it was mainly military planes and helicopters, including the Vulcan bomber - wow!

Just a quick line to say hello.

Recently returned to photography after many years, used to have the ME Super, bought when they first came out.Last year i was in need of a hobby so bought myself a superzoom, the Fujifilm Finepix S5800 and promised myself that if i was still interested after a year i would upgrade - and here i am!
Spent a long time looking and reading before buying my Pentax (the K-m)from the very helpful people at Mathers of Lancashire. Had thought about C**** or N**** as they seemed to be around everyones necks at Southport airshow last year, but somehow that did not feel right - i suppose you always feel an affinity towards your first camera.
Very early days yet in using the camera, found some very helpful things written on other threads regarding differences between "compact" and "dslr", which did help a lot because i was very disappointed at first with my pictures, seemed very flat compared with the Fujifilm, they are not, just more natural.
Anyway, all for now
Bill
ps
forgot to say,

lenses with K-m - 18-55 DA and 55-300 DA.
Any other lenses recommended, interested in Macro work
