Hi Ian,

It is the PRH water tower - I work in the new hospital next to it.

I really do love it. People just don't understand but I could photograph it all day.

I always try and have a look inside when the workmen are in but I'm too scared to ask to have a look!

Thank you for the welcome, I'm quite excited but still too scared to touch my camera at the moment... weird, huh? I'm usually so hands on but I'm finding I want to read everything first... which I never do!

Thank you both of you. I looked at the Tamron 70-300 in Park Cameras at the weekend and I didn't really like the feel of it. Does that make sense? I'm sure it does? It just didn't feel right FOR ME. My bf liked it though and would like to get it but I'm just not 100% sold on it...

I'm thinking I might like a fixed macro lens instead of a zoom/macro combi. Hmmm... decisions, decisions...

If I take my camera with me, do they generally let you have a go with them or is that a strict no-no?

Hi all,

Could you please help with my macro dilema? I just got my K20D and at the moment I want to do and buy everything but I can't... simple.

I don't know the ins and outs yet but I do LOVE macro photography and I would like a good lens that will keep my thirst away for a while.

I like to take pictures of flowers, textures, bits and bobs... not insects yet but eventually I will but I understand I'll probably need a new lens at that point in time.

So, any help is much appreciated. What else do you need to know?

Oh, budget would probably help... probably up to £500ish, but only because my birthday is coming up!!

Thank you in advance...

I'll just mention here that I have experience with CRB checks because of where I work and don't leave anything until the last minute if it turns out that you need one for something. They can sometimes take months (4 months, maybe more) depending on how busy they are. On the other hand it can also take 2 weeks...

Just FYI.

I've just noticed that there is a little zipper compartment in the bottom that has a little rain mac in it for the bag.

MY water tower. Sorry that it's not up to standard, it's just taken with my Sony. I just love looking at it.

I'm very excited! I think I will stick to my Sony for taking to work and getting the random, last minute shots because it's just not possible for me to take the Pentax with me.

Although I will have to cart it in a few times because I work right next to the most beautiful (this only seems to be MY opinion!) watertower. I love catching it in different light and weather conditions. Love it.

I got a Lowepro Nova 170 AW today. It fits a K20D and two lenses very nicely. I have no experience with any other bags, this was just recommended by the guy in Park Cameras so I had no reason to argue!
