The background is a very pale blue/green at the top and more of a true blue near the bottom, darker to the bottom right hand corner.

1. Is there a good online guide for shooting sharp with the camera handheld?
Use both hands to support the camera from underneath, keep your elbows bent and tucked in close to your body (pointed down), don't take the shot while inhaling (either exhale or hold your breath) and finally squeeeeeeeeeze the shutter gently - never jab at it. Leave your finger there until after the shutter has closed again, don't snatch it away.

Sooner or later this will become second nature and your shots will become sharper - like everything else in life it just takes a little practice.
This is very useful - although not intended for me, thank you!

I'm just re-sizing some of my favourites to put in my gallery. PLEASE bear in mind that I have no idea what I'm doing, I'm just doing my best with what I know so far!

I'm in love. I've had my first outing with my K20D. It was only a couple of hours just up the road @ Barcombe Mills but it was just amazing.

I have a whole new reason to live... my K20D!

Wow, that looks scary!

I think I am going to wait for paullucas to decide what he's doing with his Sigma 105mm, it looks like a fantastic lens and it will give me time to play with my current lenses!

I will post some pictures as soon as I get my grubby mits on one!

Wow, thank you for that! What a great shot! How close did you have to be to take that? Sorry, I'm still not sure about all the lingo, what was the exact lens you used?

Thank you again.

I will get back to you jon.dc if that's okay?

Thank you all for your input so far. I will take the info away and decipher it all. I am starting to understand some of what you are saying after reading a book from the library! I feel like I'm back at school again. It's all very exciting though.

Macro here I come!
