Hiya,

Not sniping at all, the thread asked how the new Pentax could be improved, so I gave my opinion, bearing in mind you have to judge any product against the competition...

I used to use a Canon 40D and now use a Nikon D90, the Pentax menu system, whilst it works is simply not as intuitive nor as fast to use as either the Nikon or Canon menus. If you use the C&N cameras for any length of time, the differences become quite stark. If you do not use the competition, you will never be aware of how much better they are...

..oh and the Pentax menu system is also a magnitude poorer than both C&N.

"The only significant defect in modern Pentax cameras compared to the opposition is the relatively slow AF. I would expect that Ricoh would be concerned to rectify that problem, and I hope they will have had time to do so"

..agree 100% BUT would add that Pentax in camera image processing is also quite a bit slower than C&N and the ridiculous card door placement needs improving..do Pentax actually do hands on testing before they release cameras?

Avoiding cliche:

1. Avoid sunset/sunrise shots
2. Avoid obvious use of ND filters/polarising filters
3. Avoid overly high/obvious high contrast.
4. Avoid beach/seaside scenes with wet stones/rocks in the foreground with wide angles.
5. Avoid HD like the plague.
