Perhaps I should use it more instead of the DA50-200WR ...

Love the colours Nice bokeh in the first shot, and heat waves in the second.

I've just gone through the same thought process - easy to forget that it's a darned good lens when I've been using the 70-200 . The DA 55-300 is a cracker for street people shots.

I like these candid shots and they've inspired me to use the 55-300mm more

Thanks.

I've not used it much on this K-5ii. On a K-7 AF tended to be a bit erratic. I set it up on the K-5ii, +2 AF fine tune tweak at infinity seems to have made all the difference. I still got a few misses, but these were all due to me not waiting long enough for the SR to lock in. At 300mm handheld I need it

I particularly like the good exposure control which is well optimised for the skin tones ... Do you have 'ae linked to af point' in the custom menu kh?

Not much point since I centre focus and recompose - old habits die hard. I use Silkypix Pro 6 for post-processing which makes it pretty easy to tweak the mids to be right.

Just trust the camera, let it rip and pick the best one

I was thinking that that custom setting would still have some effect even on the centre point. I guess the centre is already quite strongly biased in the matrix pattern, but activating the setting would increase this bias even more, which could be helpful in certain shooting situations i was thinking.
