Hi,

You might want to take a look at link.

If you are only shooting digital you may wish to consider the use of a step ring. I've found that with a 58mm-49mm step ring I can use 49mm filters and hood.

I've bought from them a couple of times including my K10D as it was the best price i could find.
They will show up if you do a dealer search on the Pentax UK site for Clitheroe.

For a while I thought RAID1 was the way to go. That was until the NAS system software threw a wobbly and the data disappeared on both discs. Fortunately I kept a backup to protect against fire, theft etc. I concluded that RAID1 was more about availability. I'm not running a company which needs its fileserver available 24/7 so I now use the other drive bay simply to increase storage.

I find the NAS slow, especially for browsing and I concur that USB2 isn't much better. The NAS is on a Gige link to N router. If available eSATA is the way to go. I've no experience of USB3.

For viewing my results on the Macbook I use an AFP share on the iMac. This seems much more usable than my NAS.

I believe the Minolta scanners use an infrared channel to detect dust and scratches on the film surface. Unfortunately the unique composition of Kodachrome tends to absorb the infrared so affects the ability to perform ICE.

A friend of mind who had to 'restore' some of his father's old images recommended the Polaroid Dust Removal filter link. This doesn't seem to be on the Polaroid site any more but I came across it here link.

It seems to fire up on Snow Leopard but that's all the testing I've done.

I had a DA* 50-135mm develop this problem after a trip to Pentax Germany for repair for other issues. I found that wiggling the lens on the mount would sometimes effect a temporary cure. I found thet the lens would also hunt on a non SDM body, e.g. *istD or MZ-S. The lens was replaced by SRS.

Pentax have recently outsourced repairs to JP Service Solutions in Newcastle under Lyme. However as I've not used them I cannot advise whether they are likely to be better than the outfit which dealt with your MZ-S.

I moved to South Staffordshire (Brewood) through choice! Stafford is just a few miles up the road. Is it Peter Jones or Peter Rodgers in Stafford? I've never quite got around to going for I look. Perhaps I should.
