yes, its definitely not the cord as it works with my other speedlites.
i have tried every setting but still no joy
I think people would like to help, but I think you need to give more information on the exact settings you're using, on the camera, triggers and flash ... Pictures of the equipment set ready to go would help too.
You've bought a top range dedicated system flash, so it works wirelessly with the Pentax P-TTL system (you could use the pop-up flash as the control trigger) .... Have you tried that? It needs configuring first, so check the flash manual.
At the moment you're stuck not knowing if the problem is with the camera, flash, triggers or cord ....

i have the k3 and the metz 64 af1. i am unable to fire the flash off camera, ive tried the aputure triggmaster and even a direct connection using a flash sync cord but nothing. it only works mounted on the k3 hotshoe.
i have 2 other yongnuo speedlites and they work fine with the cord and triggers.
surely a flash this advanced should work....so what am i doing wrong here?
all help welcome
thank you

but many thanks
Perhaps a picture or two of the set-up plus details of the settings you're using may help to prompt some ideas. I assume the connection to the camera hotshoe and Metz seem tight?
It may be that the support forum for the triggers (if there is one) may have more specific knowledge available. It doesn't sound as if the problem concerns the camera as it does fire for the Yongnuo flashes......

i currently have the aputure trigmaster ii which work perfect wiyj my yognuo speedlites. just cant get them to work with my metz
i basically just want to fire the metz flash wireless off camera withouse firing it with the pop up flash
thanks
Hi balsembi, we might need more information on the triggers you have and how you are setting things ...
The Metz flash you have is a dedicated system model and so it will work wirelessly with the K3 via optical signals from the camera built-in flash. The camera remote control can be used to fire the camera and flash as well.
Is this what you want to do? Or are you needing to use radio triggers for some reason? Apart from the Acon products, radio triggers systems mean manual flash control only, and as Richard has pointed out, no HSS via radio.

i have the K3 and a metz 64 AF1 and cannot get it to fire with the triggers i have.
can you recommend triggers that even sync to 1/180 sec?
just looking for something that i can fire the flash and camera by remote control.
cheers
For a first response answer: They don't. You HAVE to buy a Pentax HSS capable flash to enable the HSS mode.
Others will be along shortly to give more accurate answers...

i was wondering if anyone knows if high speed flash triggers will work on the pentax hotshoe?
the hotshoe plates look pretty similar

does that mean i'll need another flash trigger?
if so, can you recommend a good one?
cheers

Not sure if it will work, but try flash sync setting and wireless controller master
