For a first response answer: They don't. You HAVE to buy a Pentax HSS capable flash to enable the HSS mode.

Others will be along shortly to give more accurate answers...

thanks for your help
i have the K3 and a metz 64 AF1 and cannot get it to fire with the triggers i have.
can you recommend triggers that even sync to 1/180 sec?
just looking for something that i can fire the flash and camera by remote control.
cheers

Hi balsembi, we might need more information on the triggers you have and how you are setting things ...

The Metz flash you have is a dedicated system model and so it will work wirelessly with the K3 via optical signals from the camera built-in flash. The camera remote control can be used to fire the camera and flash as well.

Is this what you want to do? Or are you needing to use radio triggers for some reason? Apart from the Acon products, radio triggers systems mean manual flash control only, and as Richard has pointed out, no HSS via radio.

Perhaps a picture or two of the set-up plus details of the settings you're using may help to prompt some ideas. I assume the connection to the camera hotshoe and Metz seem tight?

It may be that the support forum for the triggers (if there is one) may have more specific knowledge available. It doesn't sound as if the problem concerns the camera as it does fire for the Yongnuo flashes......

The Metz will need a receiver attached. The newer Yongnuos have a built-in receiver.
None of this will enable HSS off camera.
