Yes good post just loaded the update. Saves me having to convert to DNG before importing. Also was thinking of moving to Lightroom if Aperture wasn't update..but would have disliked having to learn a new package.

I have recently upgraded my K5 to a K3 and wishing to sell my K5, 18-55 DA Kit Lens Boxed c/w battery, charger, strap, manual, software and USB cable. The camera is in very good condition and has had only 5100 actions in approximately 15 months of use. I am looking at selling it for£300.00 plus postage (approx 15.00 in the UK) or Collection from the Farnborough UK area. I can send photos of the camera if anyone is interested.

Thank you

Brian

I am a Pentax user of many years, and eagerly awaiting the delivery of my K3. I have been successfully importing my PEF files into Aperture for a number of years via my K20 and K5, however I understand Apple isn't supporting the K3 yet.
I wonder if this is true? I understand Lightroom does, but I don't really want to change my work flow if I don't have too. The other idea is try shooting DNG and seeing if that works?

Really good example of the use of the 50-135, It is actually my favourite lens even though it it is quite bulk. Brian

Unlike the 50-135 masters, Messrs Trout and Cabstar, I have never really got to grips with this lens and have decided on more than one occasion to sell it, almost. There was a mediaeval festival in town yesterday so I decided to pop along and see if I could collar a few performers for portraits. The weather was grey and drizzly so the DA*50-135 was the obvious choice. I arrived to find my batteries flat so I had to charge one up for an hour or so during which the weather progressively worsened. But I managed to find some willing volunteers. Normally I chat to my subjects while I'm shooting to try and provoke some more interesting responses. Not so easy to do in French but I managed to get some of the things I wanted. I was a bit lazy, I should have set up the tripod but time was running out, space was a bit limited and the weather closing in horribly so I had to be quick. Some of the shots I was happy with but what could have been a very good shot indeed I messed up and it lacks sharpness and detail (note to self, use the ******* tripod). But I'm going to track down the fellow and see if I can do a shoot with him. But the upshot is that it has convinced me to definitely keep the lens. Aside from the obvious stellar quality the WR meant it was the only lens that was perfect for the job on this occasion. There was some discussion recently of the 50-135 as a portrait lens and I think these images give some idea of its potential:

My friend has a K x and loves it, however if you feel that you wish to have a device with better functions and performance upgrade. If not stick to investing in good glass.

I have just upgraded from K20 to K 5 after a great time of thinking, as I was wondering should I wait for a possible K 5 upgrade and maybe a FF camera. However, I bit the bullet and have had the K 5 for 2 week's and glad I purchased it. I was also pleasantly surprised selling my K 20, got a very good price! especially for a 3 year device.
