Thanks Vic,
They charge £10 postage so it actually costs £289. I think my price of £200 including Royal Mail Special Delivery is reasonable but if it is slow to sell I will of course consider sensible offers!

In London, used ones go for 229 (no box etc)-249 (with box, papers etc) + shipping...
good luck selling it

rparmar you're completely right

Anybody who would like 55/58mm on film can easily like 40/43 on APSC.
I for one really like the tight normal perspective these lenses offer..

so I got K-x for my wife, it's not bad camera and the high ISO is really nice, but I'll be still sticking with my K10D and see what will come next.
Anyway, I'm trying to get into debug on K-x so I can adjust for my ltds and I'm having some trouble.
I found these instructions:
How to get into DEBUG mode for K-x, firmware 1.0:
1) create file MODSET.492 with
[OPEN_DEBUG_MENU]
- line must end with CR/LF (endline char in windows)
2) turn on the camera while holding +/- (Av) button
3) congratulations, you are in debug menu

but doesn't work. So I have Q:
what is CR/LF (endline char in WWin) ?????
thanks for any help.

OK, even if OP is off elsewhere I'll share my opinion.
I have had FA43 since January. Marvelous lens IMO. I got DA*55 to replace my K50/1.2 and K55/1.8. After a week's trial I returned it back to the shop.
It's a great lens, but I don't think optically it's better than 50/1.2 and it's OOF rendering is pretty horrid compared to my K50, especially with highlights or contasty stuff in the background.
Other than that I liked it. If I never would have had 50/1.2 I'd probably keep it but once I have tried the OOF rendering of K50/1.2 I couldn't force myself to pick DA* over it. The DA* is very contrasty and very sharp right from 1.4 and not too dissimilar from 43 in overall IQ.
I'd never replace one by another though. I think they complement each other rather nicely.
Oh and for what it's worth, DA*55 DOES cover FF image circle, but without aperture ring it's only usable on few film bodies and only as MF lens because of lack of screwdrive...

DA* is sharper and more contrasty at all f stops. K has better OOF wide open. Once stopped down the DA* really benefits from 9 rounded blades. If I had to choose, it probably would be the DA*. As I mentioned, only reason why I returned it was my K50/1.2... sadly for Pentax, it blows the DA* off the water when you focus it correctly...
having said that, DA* has couple of nice touches. For example I like the fact that hood attaches to non moving part of the lens, and that the moving front element/group is completely independant of the hood. Therefore any knocks to the hood don't get relaid to moving part of the lens and there is less chance of damaging it!
